Changes to meeting venues and times
During lockdown your committee has been meeting and discussing the options for the way ahead for the Walsall National Trust Association. You may remember that earlier this year we asked for your suggestions about the way ahead and these were considered during our discussions. This is what your committee has decided:
The membership year will change to run from October to September and that membership fees will not be due until 1st September 2022. The AGM will be held at the first evening meeting in October 2021 and in September in subsequent years.
Meetings will resume in September/October 2021 but with a change of venue and day. The afternoon meeting will take place on the fourth Thursday of the month, starting at 2.15pm in the Aldridge Community Centre, WS9 8AN. The meeting should end about 3.15pm and hopefully tea/coffee will be available after the meeting to give you an opportunity to discuss the lecture or just have a chat with friends. Parking facilities are available at the centre.
The evening meeting will take place on the second Wednesday of the month, starting at 7pm in the Aldridge Parish Church Rooms, The Green, Aldridge, WS9 8NH. There will be a break halfway through the lecture for refreshments and raffle. The meeting should end by 9pm. There are adequate parking facilities available and no outside stairs to climb!
Refreshments at Meetings
Tea and coffee will be served at both evening and afternoon meetings. At the afternoon meetings refreshments will be available after the meeting, providing an opportunity for all to have a time to socialise.
The Committee have decided to do away with the need to buy tea/coffee tickets and raffle tickets separately and for each meeting you will be asked to pay £1 per person on entry. For this you will receive one raffle ticket and a cup of tea or coffee, additional raffle tickets will not be sold.
Please have the correct entry money available, so that we don’t have to handle cash and delay matters by changing notes etc. There will be a container available at the entry point for your coin(s).
That welcome time has come when many people feel cautiously able to get out again with friends. We have decided that the walks programme will start again in September 2021 and we hope that members will welcome and support this initiative.
Walks will be about 5 miles in length but no arrangements for meals afterwards will be made, this is because large group bookings may remain difficult to make, however, individuals may make their own arrangements. For more information look at our Walks page. Christine Adamson
No outings or entertainments have been organised for the remainder of this year and these will, hopefully, resume in summer next year.
