We have had two theatre visits since the last report. Our first one was on March 3rd to see ‘The Winslow Boy’at Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Unfortunately, this coincided with very heavy snowfalls which meant that not everyone was able to make the journey. However, for those of us that did, it was well worth it to see a classic play so well performed.

Our most recent visit couldn’t have been more different, as we were in the middle of the July heatwave, with temperatures of over 30 degrees! We travelled by coach to Kilworth House Theatre in Lutterworth to see ‘Guys and Dolls’. The theatre is in the open air, and is in a beautiful setting. Everyone took a picnic to eat prior to the show and some of the more energetic also fitted in a short walk around the grounds. The performance was by a London-based company with excellent singing, acting and choreography, and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.  I am hoping to arrange a visit in October – maybe to Malvern.

New members to our theatre group are always welcome and you contact me through the “Contact Us” page on this website .
